Most of my patterns are made for women. Everyday Life is made for him. I knitted it for my husband, who ordered it himself. The garments are calm and sturdy, and graded in five men's sizes, from S to XXL.
The cardigan
Everyday Life – The Icon is a men's cardigan with a zigzag border. It comes in two yarn versions: DROPS Snow and Vams Edition.
The sweater
Everyday Life – The Weekend is a men's sweater in half fisherman's rib, knitted in Puno, with white stripes.
The beanies
The Beanie · Green and The Beanie · Grey are knitted in Vams, with a folded rib brim and an orange star on top. They are quick to knit and make a good Christmas present.
How to choose the size
Measure a sweater he already likes to wear, laid flat across the chest, and compare it with the measurements in the pattern. That way you get the size right without having to give away the gift.
Did you know …
The lusekofte, the Norwegian knitted sweater with small scattered dots in the pattern, was a man's garment. Men in Setesdal have worn it since the mid-1800s, and it became common when men changed from short to long trousers. The first ones were called bondingstrøye or spitekupto. The word lusekofte does not appear in writing until 1921.
