Questions about buying and downloading

Questions about the purchase itself — how the pattern reaches you, which sizes there are, and what you may do with the garment afterwards. If you're wondering about the knitting itself, there are ninety-six questions and answers here.

Buying and delivery

Are the patterns digital or physical?

Every pattern is a digital PDF you download after purchase. Nothing is sent by post.

Will I get the pattern by email?

Yes. You'll get a download link by email immediately after payment.

I can't find my download

Check your spam folder first — that's where it usually ends up. If you still can't find it, get in touch and I'll send it again.

Which languages are the patterns in?

Most are in Norwegian. A selection is also available in Danish and English — see Danish & English Patterns. You choose the language on the product before you buy.

Before you buy

Which level suits me?

The patterns are marked with three levels: beginner, beginner plus and lightly experienced. See the level guide.

How do I pick the right size?

Look at the measurement chart in the pattern and compare it with your own measurements. All measurements are in centimetres.

Can I adjust the length or the width?

You can adjust the length on most garments. The width is set by the size and by your gauge.

Are the garments knitted top-down or bottom-up?

That's stated in each pattern, under construction.

Yarn and needles

Can I use a different yarn from the one listed?

Yes, as long as you get the same gauge. Read more in the yarn guide, and work out the amount with the yarn calculator.

What does it mean that the yarn is held together?

That you knit with two strands at once — often a mohair together with a wool — to combine volume, strength and softness.

Do I have to knit a gauge swatch?

Yes. It's the only way to know the garment will come out the right size. Here's how.

Which needles do I need?

The recommended needle size is given in the pattern. If your gauge is off, change needle size — not yarn.

Rights

Can I sell garments I knit from the patterns?

Yes, on a small scale — as long as CosyMonday is credited as the designer. The pattern itself may not be shared or resold.
