There are less than two months until Christmas. That is enough time to knit a beanie or a pair of mittens, and maybe a scarf as well. A knitted gift is made for one person, and you can tell when it is unwrapped.
Knitted accessories are also part of this winter's trends. Beanies, scarves, shawls and hoods that look handmade are named as an important part of knitwear in 2026.
The beanies
A beanie is the quickest gift, and the one that fits the most people. All the beanies in A Head Full of Dreams are graded in five sizes, so you can knit for both children and adults.
Golden Champagne – The Beanie is knitted in alpaca with gold thread and a folded brim. It is made to be given away.
Bubblegum – The Beanie is pink, in alpaca, mohair and gold thread. Red Glam – The Beanie is red with gold thread and suits Christmas. Tweed – The Beanie and Gingerbread Brown – The Beanie are calm enough that most people will wear them.
For him, there is The Beanie · Green and The Beanie · Grey. They are knitted in Vams, with folded ribbing and an orange star on top.
The mittens
The Mittens are knitted in Tjukk Mohair with a silver thread, a mock cable and a folded cuff. They knit up quickly on thick needles.
Skistar – The Mitten has a star motif and a more traditional style, and Something Old, Something New – The Mittens is made to use up leftover yarn.
Scarves and neck warmers
Anna’s Hood Scarf is a hood and scarf in one, and comes in several editions and colours. It is a good gift for someone who gets cold easily.
My Vintage Neck – The Neck is a high neck warmer that sits over the shoulders, with glitter thread. All the scarves and neck warmers are gathered under Beanies, scarves and neck warmers.
Small gifts
If you are short on time, The Shoe Flower is a small knitted rose that clips onto your shoe, and Pure – The Dishcloth is a cotton dishcloth. Both can be knitted in an evening.
If you don't make it in time
Some of my garments are also sold ready-knitted. You will find them under Ready-knitted beanies, scarves and neck warmers.
Gift card
Not sure what she or he would like to knit? A CosyMonday gift card can be used on all the patterns and the ready-knitted garments, and is sent by email straight away.
What I am knitting myself
This year I will knit either thin black sweaters for my daughters-in-law, or a cobalt blue sweater for my mum.
Did you know …
The Selbu mitten was created in 1857. Marit Guldsetbrua Emstad from Selbu was a young girl when she knitted three pairs of black and white mittens with an eight-petal rose and wore them to church. The pattern became popular straight away. In the 1930s, 100,000 pairs of Selbu mittens were knitted in the village every year, and the knitting gave many women an income of their own.
