The story behind the design

Angel – The Vest came out of wanting to design the perfect basic vest – a garment that works with everything without turning dull. Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, the design combines simple shapes with soft textures for a calm and elegant look.

The discreet half brioche adds depth and texture, while the vest keeps its clean, classic character.

Angel – The Vest is knitted bottom-up. The simple construction combines stocking stitch and half brioche to make a garment with a soft texture and a good fit. The neck and armhole edges are finished cleanly, which underlines the minimalist look of the design.

About the pattern

The pattern is written with plain explanations and a good workflow in mind. It works perfectly as your first vest project, and the small details give a finished result that looks both exclusive and carefully made.

What you will learn
  • Flexible cast on
  • Half brioche
  • Using stitch markers
  • A neat cast off
  • Weaving and knitting in ends
  • Neat finishing
Yarn feel

Choose between several soft yarn qualities that give the design different looks – from light, airy alpaca to a fuller wool. What they all share is a pleasant warmth and a garment with a lovely drape.

Cosy Cues

If you want a more oversized look, choose one size up from your usual. The simple lines of the design mean the vest works just as well close-fitting as with a looser fit.
