Hello Autumn – The Everyday Sweater
Hymn for the Weekend · Level: Beginner plus
The same wine red mohair and lace border as the Party version, taken in over the chest for a sweater you put on every day. The line is calmer and closer to the body, but the lace border still lets in light without letting go of the warmth.
Calm. Everyday. Timeless.
Styling
Style Hello Autumn – The Everyday Sweater under an open jacket or on its own with jeans — the lace border shows whatever you wear on top. The warm red holds the eye through the whole autumn and winter season, without the sweater ever feeling too dressed up for a completely ordinary day.
Perfect if you want
- A wine red mohair sweater for everyday wear
- A design with lace pattern and puff sleeves
- A closer line than a classic oversized sweater
- A garment that is easy to layer under a jacket
- The same design as the Party version, in a calmer version
What you get
- Digital knitting pattern (PDF)
- Detailed step-by-step guide
- Cosy Cues with useful technical tips
- 5 sizes (XS–XL)
- Yarn alternatives and tips for personal adjustments
The story behind the design
The same wine red looks different in daylight — calmer, closer to the skin, more where you actually live your day. With less width over the chest, the mohair holds its shape more closely, and the lace border becomes a line you recognise even under a thick jacket on top. The name of the collection comes from the Coldplay song Hymn for the Weekend.
Hymn for the Weekend
Hymn for the Weekend is CosyMonday's capsule inspired by warm evenings, light and the feeling of freedom. The garments play with contrasts — soft and lively, light and expressive — and are designed to capture the moment, from day to late evening.

Construction
Hello Autumn – The Everyday Sweater is knitted bottom-up, like the Party version, but with less width over the chest. The body and sleeves are knitted separately before the work is joined and shaped with raglan decreases. The lace pattern and the short puff sleeves give the design its characteristic look, while the high neck creates a finish that works well under a jacket.
