The same cardigan as the original – half fisherman's rib on the body, stockinette sleeves, raglan decreases and a high collar – but knitted in Bella by Permin off-white instead of green. A neutral version that goes with everything, and that suits autumn as well as it suits spring.

What sets it apart from the original
Nothing but the yarn. All stitch counts, decrease rounds and measurements are identical to My Favorite Green – The Cardigan. Bella by Permin off-white has the same yardage as the original yarn, so the number of balls is also unchanged.
If you want the green one, you will find it as a separate product.

Half fisherman's rib uses more yarn than stockinette, and the body is the whole garment minus the sleeves. Better to buy one ball too many than one too few – dye lots vary.
Needles and accessories
- Circular needle 7 mm
- Double-pointed needles 5 mm for the ribbing
- 5 stitch markers
- 2 buttons
- Scissors, darning needle, tape measure
Gauge
12 stitches = 10 cm on 7 mm needles, measured in half fisherman's rib.
Knit a swatch and measure it both before and after washing.
Construction
The cardigan is knitted bottom-up. The body is knitted back and forth because the garment is open at the front, while the sleeves are knitted in the round. The sleeves are joined to the body before the raglan decreases.
The raglan is decreased only on the body – the sleeves keep their stitches up to the puff. That is what gives the soft volume at the top. Finished with a high collar and one button on each cuff.
