Unsaid – The Dress
Creative Collection · Level: Beginner plus
A feminine, retro-inspired knitted dress with a flared skirt, long cuffs and an elegant round neck. Unsaid – The Dress is inspired by the iconic silhouettes of the 70s, read through a modern Scandinavian lens.

The story behind the design
Unsaid – The Dress is inspired by a dress my mother knitted in deep black and purple tones – a dress that has become my absolute favourite. The calm, dark shades and the elegant silhouette are a tribute to that very dress, translated into something new and timeless.
About the design
The dress is knitted from the bottom up, with a close-fitting bodice that gradually opens into a soft, A-line skirt. The result is a silhouette that follows the body without feeling tight – elegant, comfortable and timeless. Unsaid is about the things that do not need to be said, about clothes that express personality through shape, detail and craft.

Construction
Unsaid – The Dress is knitted from the bottom up. The close-fitting bodice is combined with a flared skirt and long cuffs, which give the garment its characteristic silhouette. The simple neckline balances the design and keeps the look classic.
About the pattern
The pattern is written with shape, fit and flow in mind. Through clear step-by-step explanations you learn how simple techniques can create a well-made and elegant dress. Along the way you learn a flexible cast on, shaping close-fitting garments, increases and decreases for fit, bottom-up construction and professional finishing.
Design philosophy
Unsaid is inspired by the quiet expressions – clothes that need no strong contrasts or big words to be noticed. The elegant silhouette, the long lines and the soft movement make this a dress that feels both sophisticated and natural.
