Yarn guide

The yarns I design with: fibre, length, needle size and gauge. Use the numbers when you substitute yarn, and always check the ball band. Manufacturers change their yarns from time to time.

The gold thread

In some of the designs a metallic thread runs along with the mohair. It is Mölnlycke metallic sewing thread, not a yarn. It is knitted together with the main yarn and gives the shimmer.

Substituting yarn

Gauge matters most, not the brand. If you match the stitch count over 10 cm, you can use the yarn you have. Work out the amount with How much yarn do I need? and read more on the yarn page, where you can also see where to buy the yarns.

Stuck?

Send me a photo of your knitting and I'll answer.
