Inspired by snowboard culture, retro ski clothes and the colourful winter jackets of the 80s and 90s, The Snowboarder – The Beanie is a tribute to the playful side of winter. The airy mohair gives the hat a light volume and a soft look that brings out the play of colour. Leftovers from Garnspesialisten work well here too.

Needles
7 mm circular needle (40 cm)
7 mm double-pointed needles or Magic Loop

12 stitches × 17 rounds = 10 × 10 cm.

The hat is knitted in the round from the bottom up. After a classic ribbing, the work continues with decorative mock cables and wide stripes that give both structure and movement. The crown is shaped with even decreases for a neat finish.

The pattern is written with the joy of knitting in mind. The technique is easy to follow, and the result still looks more advanced than it actually is.
