Velvet Bloom – The Sweater
CosyMonday Collection · Level: Beginner plus
A warm, luxurious mohair sweater with deep colour tones, soft textures and a feminine silhouette. Velvet Bloom is inspired by the glowing colours of autumn and the feeling of wrapping yourself in something that is both beautiful and comfortable.
Soft. Rich. Timeless.
Styling
Style Velvet Bloom with jeans and boots for everyday, or pair it with a satin skirt and jewellery for a more elegant look. The warm terracotta shade works just as well with natural tones as with dark denim and classic black pieces.

About the design
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up with a decorative lace pattern through the body and voluminous puff sleeves that give the garment character and balance. Choose a high or a low neck and create a look that suits your own style. The warm terracotta shade 174 Kyss from Rauma Garn gives the sweater a rich depth inspired by autumn leaves, velvet and the last rays of the evening sun.

Gauge
12 stitches × 17 rounds = 10 × 10 cm on 7 mm needles. If you knit looser than stated, 6 mm needles are recommended. If you knit tighter, 8 mm needles may give the right gauge. Always knit a gauge swatch of around 20 stitches and at least 15 cm in height.
Construction
Velvet Bloom is knitted from the bottom up. The body and sleeves are knitted separately before they are joined for the yoke. The lace pattern gives the garment lightness and texture, while the voluminous puff sleeves create a feminine silhouette. The neck can be finished either as a high, cosy neck or as a lower version with a more relaxed look.

About the pattern
The pattern is written for you who want to explore lace patterns and shaping in a manageable project. Through clear step-by-step explanations and Cosy Cues you learn how small details can give an exclusive, well-finished result.
Design philosophy
Velvet Bloom is inspired by the deep colours of autumn, soft textures and the calm you feel when nature changes. The lace pattern lets the light through, while the airy mohair adds warmth and depth. Together they make a garment that balances the feminine with the timeless.
