A sweater for Christmas has to be started in September. These you still have time for.
The projects below are sorted by time, from what you finish in half an hour to what takes a few evenings. Knit the biggest gift first and the smallest last. That way it is the small ones that have to wait if December gets busy.
Under half an hour
Carolyn – The Rose is a strip you crochet or knit, roll up tightly and sew in place with a button in the middle. Wear it as a brooch, in your hair, or on the gift wrapping instead of a bow. It uses up leftover yarn, and the pattern is free with the code GRATIS at checkout.
One evening
The Shoe Flower is a small rose in garter stitch, knitted as one straight strip and rolled up. It clips onto your shoe, and it uses the last few metres of a ball.
Pure – The Dishcloth is a dishcloth in soft cotton. Put it in a gift box with a hand soap and a tea towel, and the gift is done.
Two evenings
Live, Love, Matter – The Wrist Warmers are wrist warmers with embroidered text. The pattern has three variations, each with its own texture, so you can knit three different gifts from the same pattern.
Red – The Beanie is finished in an evening or two. The mock cable runs all the way from the folded brim to the top, and the hat looks more advanced than it is.
A few evenings
Anna’s Hood Scarf – Snow Edition is a hat and scarf in one, knitted flat as a triangle and closed with one button at the back. It is made to be finished over a few evenings.
My Vintage Neck is a soft neck warmer in triple-stranded mohair with gold thread. A Sky Full of Stars – The Beanie is knitted in alpaca, mohair and gold thread, for someone who likes a little sparkle.
For him
The Beanie comes in three versions with the same numbers: Green and Blue with a stockinette body, and Grey with rib all the way up. It sits just over the ear, has no pompom, and the double brim stands up on its own. Knitted in thick wool, so it goes quickly.
For the children, and for yourself
The CosyMonday Beanie has two sizes in the same pattern, child and adult, and two colour versions. Knit one for the child and one for yourself in the same colour.
If someone on your list would like to learn to knit, give them The Moss – the beginner’s scarf together with yarn and needles. It is also free with the code GRATIS.
The code GRATIS gives one free pattern per customer.
More small projects
Everything that goes quickly is gathered under Quick projects. If you get stuck on a technique, it is explained with video in Knittipedia.
