Hug Me and Anna in Den italienska husdrömmen

Hug Me – The Jumpsuit, stripet strikket jumpsuit i brunt, blått og rosa fra CosyMonday

Marie Olsson Nylander wears Hug Me – The Jumpsuit in three episodes of «Den italienska husdrömmen» (The Italian Dream House) on HBO Max. With the jumpsuit she wears Anna's Hood Scarf. Both are CosyMonday designs, and both are available as patterns in the shop.

The series is Swedish. Marie Olsson Nylander and Bill Nylander look for a house in Sicily, where abandoned houses are sold for one euro to people willing to restore them. Before this, they made «Husdrömmar» and «Husdrömmar Sicilien» for SVT. The new series premiered in September 2025, on Kanal 5 and Max. The series is on HBO Max in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and it has been announced for international distribution, so it may reach more countries.

Hug Me – The Jumpsuit

Hug Me is inspired by retro ski suits and warm 70s colours, with wide stripes and a relaxed silhouette. It is knitted in Hip Wool from HipKnitShop on 7 mm needles, in nine colours. Size M takes about 29 balls, around 1,450 grams.

The jumpsuit is knitted from the bottom up in 2x2 rib (knit 2, purl 2). The legs are knitted separately and joined over the crotch for the body. The sleeves are knitted separately and set in with raglan decreases. A zip runs from the neckline down to the crotch, and the belt is threaded through two loops at the waist.

It is wide on purpose, and the belt is what gives it shape. So choose your size by how much volume you want, not by the bust measurement alone. The chest circumference is XS 133 · S 147 · M 157 · L 170 · XL 180 cm. The pattern is marked intermediate and belongs to the Creative collection.

The stripe sheet at the back of the pattern tells you which yarn goes where, while the steps only count rounds. That means you can swap the whole colour chart for leftover yarn without changing a single instruction. If you need help along the way, both techniques are explained in Knittipedia: raglan and stripes and colour changes.

Anna's Hood Scarf – The Nordic Essentials

Anna's Hood Scarf is a hood, headscarf and neck warmer in one piece. It is knitted back and forth in one part, with one strand of Alpakka Ull from Sandnes Garn and one strand of Påfugl in Paris – House of Yarn on 7 mm needles. For a subtle shimmer, you can add a gold thread. The button lets you wear it as a hood, buttoned under the chin, loose around the shoulders or as a neck warmer.

The pattern is made for beginners. The cast-on is shown in Knittipedia under Casting on for a hood.

In the series, the scarf is a brown version that is now sold out. It is knitted from the same base pattern as the one in the shop.

Anna in brown

Anna also comes in five separate editions in The Anna Collection: the same triangle and the same button, in five different yarns, graded from XS to XL. Two of them are close to the colours in the series. Earth Edition goes from dark brown in the ribbing to light natural at the tip, in Finullgarn from Rauma Garn. Chestnut Edition is two strands of Puno held together, chestnut and beige, giving a heathered brown. The other three are Green, Gold and Snow Edition.

More from the screen

For a commercial for Alcro, which is Marie Olsson Nylander's own collaboration, CosyMonday designed My Funky – The Pants. In «Null stjerner» on HBO Max, Linn Skåber and Ine Jansen wear Rose and Alba, which you can read about in the post on Null stjerner. All the designs that have been on TV and in print are collected on the As seen in page.

Did you know …

… that one of the first jumpsuits came out as a sewing pattern in a newspaper? The Florentine artist Ernesto Michahelles, known as Thayaht, designed the TuTa in 1920. The pattern was printed in the newspaper La Nazione, for men on 17 June and for women on 2 July. The cut was shaped like a T and used 4.5 metres of fabric without wasting a scrap. With seven buttons and a simple belt you were dressed, and the belt is what gives shape to Hug Me as well.
