A cardigan is not a sweater with an opening down the front. It has a different job.
The sweater you put on in the morning and wear all day. The cardigan you put on last and take off first. It has to survive being draped over the back of a chair, put on again, and pulled off in the doorway.
That is why this one is knitted in half brioche. Half brioche gives weight and drape, and that is exactly what an open front edge needs — it should hang straight down, not curl inwards. The puff sleeves keep it from looking like a jacket.
Green is a colour I keep coming back to. It is the only colour that exists in every shade in nature without looking odd, and it suits more people than they think.
