How to mend a hole in knitting

  1. Find the hole and trim loose strands.

Darning

Knitted socks and stockings often wear in the shoes, especially at the heels. To darn, you put a mushroom-shaped tool inside, so the area around the darn keeps its shape. Then you weave strands in the same colour as the sock into a dense network that gradually closes the hole.
