Knit the Cuddly Cat

From about age eight. Two identical pieces become a cat — the trick is that the ears are made right at the end.

You need

• Chunky yarn
• 6 mm needles
• Toy stuffing
• Darning needle

This is what you learn

• Sewing pieces together
• Making ears
• Embroidering a face

Body

Cast on 18 stitches.

Knit all the stitches until the work measures 25 cm. Cast off.

Knit one more piece.

Sewing up

Lay the pieces on top of each other. Sew round, but stop before the top.

Stuff the cat. Sew the opening closed.

Ears

Pinch the two top corners together and sew a few stitches. Now the cat has ears.

Embroider eyes, nose and whiskers.
