The knitting school part 7 – bobbles and decorative details

The details. The thing that makes a garment look designed and not just finished.

How to knit a bobble

Several stitches out of one, worked for a few rounds and gathered back together. The result is a little ball that lifts off the surface. Remember to block the garment afterwards — that is when the bobbles settle.

How to use a stitch marker

The marker keeps track of where the pattern repeat begins, where the raglan line runs and where the round starts.

Bobbles have their own page with all the patterns that use them: bobbles. Cables are on the cable page.
